Principal: Will Shelton

Mr. Shelton is a lifelong resident of Middle Tennessee and has made Rutherford county his home since the age of seven. He is a graduate of The Webb School in Bell Buckle and of Middle Tennessee State University where he earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in biology and a Specialist of Education degree with a focus in Administration and Supervision.
Mr. Shelton taught biology for seven years at LaVergne High School before moving to the position of assistant principal, holding that post there for nine years. He served as principal of Central Middle School for one and one half years before assuming the same position at Blackman Middle in August, 2006.
Mr. Shelton and his wife, Jenny, live on their family farm where they have raised their two sons, Will and Thomas. His interests include activities with his family, hiking, church activities, and working on the farm. He and his family are members of Fellowship Methodist Church.
I taught 8th grade language arts at Walter Hill 16 years before moving to open Siegel Middle School in 2001 where I taught 8th grade language arts and served as an interim assistant principal. I served as assistant principal at Buchanan Elementary School and BMS before moving full time to Blackman Middle.
Graduate of Oakland High School and Middle Tennessee State University with a master's degree in administration and supervision.
Married to Carl Hudgens.
Hobbies include scuba diving, reading, and spending time with my family.
I am a member and attend Kingwood Heights Church of Christ in Murfreesboro.

Assistant Principal: Seth Burt

Mr. Burt is a graduate of Tullahoma High School and Middle Tennessee State University with a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision. Mr. Burt was a part of the first faculty at Blackman High when it opened for the 2000-2001 school year. He taught Honors World Geography and World Geography at BHS for 11 years. Mr. Burt was also an assistant girls’ basketball coach for several years while at BHS. He also coached the boys and girls golf teams. Mr. Burt became an administrator during the 2011-2012 school year splitting time between Blackman Middle and Oakland Middle. Mr. Burt became a full time assistant principal at Blackman Middle during the 2012-2013 school year.
