3rd quarter Independent Reading due dates:

BOOK #1:  DUE: Friday, January 26

BOOK #2:  DUE: Friday, February 23

BOOK #3:  DUE: Friday, March 16

***The rubric (options sheet) and 3rd quarter book log can be found at the bottom of this page.***

12/01/17 Update: If your child is currently failing or has a low grade, most likely they are missing one or both of their independent reading projects for the nine weeks (were due Oct 27 and Nov 17). These count as quiz grades. They can still be made up for a late grade, but must be turned in ASAP.
Vanderbilt Children's Hospital Holiday Donation Project:

We will be reading and starting our big A Christmas Carol unit on or around November 13 in class. In an effort to help our students connect with this text and its theme of charity, we are participating in a toy donation drive for the Vanderbilt Children’s Holiday Project. This is a project in which parents of sick children can visit the “Holiday Store” at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital that has been stocked with donation items to give to their children on December 25.

Please do not feel obligated in any way to give or donate. However, if you or your child would like to participate, attached is a list of items that have been requested. We will accept donations all the way up until Friday, December 15, so that we can deliver them to the hospital in time for the set-up of their Holiday store.

Again, do not feel obligated in any way, but if you or your child would like to participate, we will collect the new, unwrapped donations in our rooms up until Friday, December 15. The child life specialist at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital has requested no stuffed animals (even though new stuffed animals are on the list) due to infectious disease control. Thanks for all of your support throughout the year. We are so lucky to have such great students and parents!
