Mr. Hillis's Career Exploration/Fitness Class

Biography - I have been a teacher for 5 years.  In my career I have taught 8th Grade Social Studies, Physical Education, Fitness, and Career Exploration/Awareness  I spent 5 years teaching at Rock Springs Middle in Smyrna, TN.  This is my first school year at Blackman Middle.  I am a graduate of Siegel High School, class of 2015.  I attended Tusculum University on a football scholarship.  I was awarded Academic All-Conference for the Southern Atlantic Conference and the University in 2015/2016.  I also attended MTSU.  I graduated with a degree in History with minors in Government & Secondary Education with Magna Cum Laude honors.  I also have a teaching certificate in PE from Austin Peay State University.  

 

I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have a career in education.  I strongly believe in public education and the opportunities it provides to people.  Many members of my family are public educators and I am happy to serve the Blackman community.  I also am the Head Football Coach at Blackman.  I have also coached boys soccer and boys basketball in my career.
