WELCOME TO BETA!

Beta Club is a National Junior Honor Society.  The "National Beta is committed to recognizing high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, and fostering leadership skills and encouraging service to others."

NEW MEMBERS!  We will be accepting New members in January/February of 2026 as we will need to see evidence of your academic achievements (report cards illustrating all A's and B's).

Current members can STAY IN TOUCH!

Check this website often but also use the REMIND app.  Download the Remind app.  Send a text to 81010   and send this message   @bmsbeta23

This REMIND app will keep you updated with Beta, too!  Stay informed so that you don't miss important meetings and deadlines.

IF you are having trouble finding opportunities to volunteer, you may try a few suggested options listed below: (Please get in touch with them to find out more information and when you can participate as hours may vary.)

FEED AMERICA FIRST > volunteers can unload boxes of food or fill up boxes

A SOLDIER'S CHILD > Children of service members who have passed get to celebrate birthdays as you shop for their birthday gift wishes.  This occurs once a month at the Walmart on Old Fort Parkway.

GREENHOUSE MINISTRIES > stuff envelopes and other secretarial help

SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK > stock shelves, help box food, etc.

OR you may ask to help YOUR CHURCH, YOUR NEIGHBOR, OR YOUR TEACHER.

Please make an effort to serve your community by providing 5 hours by May 1, 2026.  USE THE LINK (ADD YOUR HOURS) to log your hours (you'll need your membership number on your Beta Membership card that you received at your induction!

 CURRENT Members:
You need to get a PERMISSION FORM from Mrs. Baird or Mrs. Wright.  This is a NEW FORM for this year.     YOU MUST HAVE A SIGNED PERMISSION FORM TO ATTEND ANY MEETING -even if you are a paid returning member of Beta. (You may get a permission form from a Beta Teacher Sponsor!)  It is important to attend meetings so that you can participate in future events such as field trips!
IF you have not turned in your signed permission form, you may bring it to a sponsor PRIOR TO the upcoming meeting.

ALL MEMBERS:  If you are a BMS Beta Club member please work hard to maintain All A's and B's in every class - even electives.  You may not receive any time in ISS or OSS.  Any grade lower than an A or B will place you on academic probation and could lead to your dismissal from the Beta Club.  Failure to complete community service hours and failure to attend meetings will terminate your position in the club.  Report Card checks are coming soon!  Remember that you are part of an honor society and your grades AND behavior should be exemplary.  We want to be proud of our Betas!
