Upcoming projects and due dates

 
Supply List:  notebook paper, pencils, red pen, 3-ring notebook with 5 dividers to be kept in the classroom all three years.  Suggested: colored pencils, hand-held sharpener
Wish List:  box of Kleenex, used tennis balls, disinfectant wipes
 
Class novels:   Due Friday, September 29 (last day of the nine weeks grading period) See syllabus for details and requirements of the project folder.   
     8th grade:    Perspectives of Power unit: dystopian novel 
     7th grade:    Going Solo by Roald Dahl
     6th grade:   The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo

 

Wordly Wise

     Tuesday A and B are due. 

     Wednesday C and D are due. E is done in the computer lab, typed in TNR 12 pt. font,

         double-spaced, vocabulary word underlined or bolded.  Reword the

         question in the answer, and answer in complete sentences.  It is a 

         test grade. Share with me on Office 365.

     Thursday Fill in the Blank open book quiz based on E. 

     Friday is the test. E is due.

 

Independent novels:  Consult your chart to see which genres and projects you have not done yet.  Pick up a rubric for your project before you start creating it.  Books must be grade level or above. Not sure of your book's Lexile level?  Look it up on the Lexile website.

                         Lexile levels:  6th:  665-1000

                                               7th:  735-1065

                                               8th:  805-1100

                                               9th:  855-1165
